What is AMSUS?

AMSUS, The Society of Federal Health Professionals is a non-profit, member-based association providing education and professional development benefits to support federal health professionals and their missions at the Departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security, and our industry partners and advocates for advancing health for all.

As a forum for interagency collaboration, AMSUS honors the legacy of federal medicine’s tremendous impact in advancing and improving health for all Americans and our international partners.

Who are the Members of AMSUS?

Our members represent all healthcare disciplines – to include but not limited to physicians, dentists, nurses, allied health professionals, medical administrators and enlisted healthcare professionals – and are (or have been) affiliated with the medical component of at least one of four federal agencies (DoD, VA, HHS, DHS), as well as civilians and individuals of the military medical services of coalition and partner nations.

Military Medicine

Military Medicine is the association’s official bi-monthly journal, with an impact factor of 1.563 for 2022. Articles published in the journal are peer-reviewed scientific papers, case reports, and editorials. The objective of Military Medicine is to promote awareness of federal and international medicine by providing a forum for responsible discussion of common ideas and problems relevant to federal, military, and international healthcare.
