At the 6 December AMSUS Board of Directors’ meeting, outgoing AMSUS Chairman MG David A. Rubenstein, MS, USA (Ret) and Board members Ms. Andrea Inserra, MBA and CAPT Ed Wyatt, MSC, USN (Ret) were thanked for their service and contributions to AMSUS.
General Rubenstein, former Army Deputy Surgeon General and Chief of the Medical Services Corps, was awarded the status of Chairman Emeritus for his service as a member of the Board of Directors from November 2012─December 2019, and Board Chair from 2015─2019, which was vital to AMSUS’ future as a viable association. Under Rubenstein’s leadership, BG John M. Cho, MC, USA (Ret) was brought on as Executive Director/CEO. The board reviewed and approved Cho’s plans to strengthen AMSUS and upgrade its digital presence.
Captain Ed Wyatt, a former Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs), was thanked for his service as a member of the Board of Directors from November 2005─November 2011 and November 2015─December 2019. Wyatt’s contributed his strong leadership and healthcare administrative background to the board that helped to strengthen the association.
Ms. Andrea Inserra, MBA, a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, was thanked for her service as a member of the Board of Directors from November 2015─December 2019. Inserra contributed her expertise in program and system management, and organizational re-engineering and transformation within the healthcare market as the first civilian member of the board.
