Learning Outcomes
Upon reading this manuscript, the participant will be able to:
- Define probiotic, prebiotic and synbiotic, and distinguish between the three.
- Summarize the extent to which existing evidence supports the use of probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics for reducing incidence, duration and severity of respiratory tract infections (RTIs).
- Identify knowledge gaps regarding the use of probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics for reducing burden of RTIs in military populations.
