A: The Annual Meeting is being held at Gaylord National, just outside of Washington, DC.
Q: When is the AMSUS Annual Meeting?
A: The meeting will take place from 27 – 30 November 2018, with preconference courses being held on 26 November 2018.
Q: What time does the AMSUS Annual Meeting start?

Q: What are the best methods to travel to the meeting?
A: There are three local airports in the Washington Metro area. The Gaylord does not provide shuttle service. Please chose from the ground transportation options provided.

Q: Parking at the Gaylord Hotel?
A: Parking is available at the hotel. Current price for self-parking is $8 an hour with a maximum charge of $30. Valet parking is $45/ day. Gaylord National is offering a $10 discount off parking for AMSUS attendees. This will be made available for ‘day attendees’ as well as overnight guests.
Q: Will Wi-Fi be available?
A: Annual Meeting attendees who stay at the Gaylord receive complimentary WiFi in their hotel rooms. Wi-Fi also will be available in the hotel lobby; however, Wi-Fi will not be available in the meeting room spaces.
Q: What benefits do I receive registering for the AMSUS Annual Meeting?
A: The AMSUS Annual Meeting is the only one of its kind to bring federal healthcare professionals together, as well as International Delegates. Throughout the event attendees have the ability to receive continuing education (CE) credits from world-renowned speakers, network across services both nationally and internationally, and view demonstrations of the latest technology in healthcare. Our exhibit hall offers a variety of exhibitors comprised of VA hospitals, non-profit organizations, medical device manufactures, mobile medical units and pharmaceutical companies.
With the purchase of registration with CE, attendees gain entrance into all lectures, poster sessions, and the exhibit hall. The registration fee also includes your continuing education credits and complimentary networking reception, lunch voucher for Tuesday on the exhibit hall and a $10 discount voucher to us in one of the Gaylord outlets on Wednesday between 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Q: Do I have to be an AMSUS member to attend the AMSUS Annual Meeting?
A: No. However, membership is strongly encouraged and will provide you with substantial savings and ongoing benefits. You can easily become an AMSUS member when you register for the meeting.
Q: Do I have to attend the entire meeting?
A: It is not mandatory that you attend the entire meeting. The main meeting days are Tuesday-Friday.
Q: Is there a reduced registration fee for only attending the meeting on one day?
A: AMSUS registration rates are extremely inexpensive compared to other medical meetings. As a result, we do not offer a one-day pass.
Q: What if I have to cancel my registration?
A: There is a $45 cancellation fee. No refunds after November 16.
Q: How many Continuing Education Credits can I receive from attending the AMSUS Annual Meeting?
A: The AMSUS 2018 Annual Meeting will provide approximately 70 hours of continuing medical education (CME) hours across a wide variety of healthcare disciplines. Diligent participants will be able to secure up to 27 CME hours throughout the week. The AMSUS 2018 Meeting is accredited through a joint partnership with Professional Education Services Group (PESG). All CE sessions will be identified closer to the meeting after accreditation review is complete.
Q: What is the Uniform and Dress for uniformed personnel during the AMSUS Annual Meeting?
For the Annual Meeting general, breakout and preconference sessions 26-30 November:
Uniformed Personnel: The Uniform of the Day as prescribed by your services regulations/ directions.
Civilians: Business attire or business casual
For the Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet on 29 November:
Uniformed Personnel: Mess Dress, Dinner Dress Blues or Class A
Civilian: Black tie (optional)
